Day 1
Rob gets 6 camels and plays a card to take the corner in the barrel district. Eric takes the “lower” road spaces in the barrel district and uses a card to grab the vase corner. You can only imagine his regret at not getting the barrel corner to pair up with it. Andy takes a card.
Rob: This was a great roll to get camels. However, it would prove fatal to me in having trouble getting cubes for the rest of the game.
Day 2
Eric burns a card to get all 4 spaces in the 8 point chest souk. Andy grabs the corner sack souk. Rob gets 3 gold and builds the Hoist using the no camel card.
Day 3
Andy moves 1 to the caravan, saving the cube with a camel. He also builds the Shop. Rob moves 1 to the caravan, scoring it, but also forcing Andy to move 1 to the now empty caravan. Plus Andy has no camel with which to save it! For clearing the caravan, Eric scores 15 to Rob and Andy’s 6.
After the caravan clears Eric moves 1 to the caravan:
Day 4
Rob takes 5 gold and builds his last building for 10 points. Eric takes 5 camels and builds the Paddock. Andy plays a card for 3 camels and moves 1 to the caravan.
Rob: This is where Eric got the camels to make the differance in the end
Day 5
Eric moves 1 to the caravan. Rob finishes filling the “east” road in the barrel district. Andy takes 3 gold and builds the Hoist with the no camel card.
Day 6
With his shiny new Hoist, Andy takes the 12-point souk in the vase district. Rob takes the “west” road spaces in the chest district. Eric moves 1 of his barrel cubes to the caravan and then plays the 3-coin card and builds the Hammam.
Day 7
Rob is up first and buys a yellow die. He gets four 1’s and puts a cube in the caravan. Then he uses a card to place another in the caravan. Eric also gets 2 in the caravan, causing it to score. He gets 15 points again. Andy gets 4 and Rob 6.
Then Eric puts the hammer down by playing a card for 3 coins, another card to turn them into camels and a third to turn the 3 camels into 6 points. Andy is left with placing a cube in the newly emptied caravan for 3 points.
Rob: Good play by Eric to win in the end
The final score is Eric: 92, Rob: 90 and Andy: 77. Eric’s final card alchemy had turned the trick, but he led the caravan points by a lot. Eric had 44 total points from the track and 8 cards. Rob had 28 points from the track and 5 cards. Andy had only 16 points and 4 cards from the track. Only Rob completed his buildings. This equated to most of the difference between his and Eric’s caravan points. Only Eric scored points off of cards. Without that at the very end, Rob would have prevailed.
